My life is nothing if not a winding path. Now that I’m in my 50s, I appreciate the twists and turns that have made for a pretty great ride. My latest pivot involves offering workshops that jive with my guiding motto (derived from a long-forgotten source) have fun and learn new things.
Scrappy Affirmations Workshops
I learned to use a laser cutter when I helped launch mHUB, Chicago’s innovation space for physical product entrepreneurs, a few years back. I built my skills designing pin and magnets with affirming (and sometimes snarky) messaging that I cut from cast-off scraps of wood. Thus, Scrappy Affirmations was born! I sell them at holiday craft fairs and on Etsy. Now, I’m branching out from products to workshops for adults that have the same fun, affirming feeling.
The workshops only take up part of an afternoon but leave you feeling like you’ve been on a longer retreat. We pack a lot of “me” time into just a couple of hours! The workshops take place in the Skokie area, just a hop from I-94 and a short Lyft from the CTA Yellow Line.
2020 Vision Board Workshop
I’ve got three upcoming vision board sessions to choose from (select the date that works for you and don’t miss the Maker Mom discount at registration)!
Sunday, 12/29 Vision Board Saturday, 1/4 Vision Board Sunday, 1/19 Vision Board
Foresight is 2020. Where are you headed? What do you want from work? Relationships? Your body? Your life? Put it down on a Vision Board. It’s more fun to make and harder to lose than a boring list.
A vision board is a collage, but it’s also more than that. It’s a roadmap that highlights your destination. Each time you look at it, you revisit your intentions and (re)direct your efforts accordingly. A vision board can have a magical impact on your life, but YOU are what makes the magic. Give it a try in 2020.
Bag of Good Feelings Workshop
1/12 Bag of Good Feelings
A Bag of Good Feelings is a customized receptacle for items that make you happy, bring you delight, provide a sense of accomplishment, and remind you that You’ve Got This.
It’s a combination of a gratitude journal and time capsule. By the end of 2020, you’ll have a unique record of what makes you smile, who brings you joy, and when you feel your best. It will help you embrace the new year, and maybe even a new you!
I hope you’ll join me for one of these sessions!
