It’s almost time to get the turkey in the oven here at the Maker House, but I’m organizing something else, too. Tomorrow, 11/28, the day that used to kick off the holiday shopping season before retailers (and many bloggers) decided it should start the day after Halloween or on Thanksgiving Day itself. What was I saying? Oh yeah, tomorrow the Young Maker Teen and I will be on WGN Morning News for a Black Friday segment on great STEM gift for kids.
Look for us around 8:40 AM Central Time

When I offered to host Thanksgiving, it slipped my mind that I had a TV appearance scheduled for the next morning. The good news is that I’m getting out of doing the dishes and clean up this year. The bad news, is, well, there is no bad news, but I am a wee bit stressed right now.
So I’ll think happy thoughts. For example, not only do I get to highlight hot new STEM gifts for tweens, teens (and maybe some adults), but I’ll be giving away each of the six items I’m showcasing to 7 lucky readers.
Look for details here tomorrow morning around 9:00!
I just saw your segment on when very cool. I too have an 11 year old son and I’d love to get him either the robotic arm or the hex bug. Where can I purchase them
Thank you

Thanks for your great ideas

You’re welcome, Lori. The best price for the Hexbug seems to be their site http://www.hexbug.com/vex/. The Robotic Arm is from Marbles, The Brain Store. The have locations aroudn Chicago and a few around the US. You can get the arm here: http://www.marblesthebrainstore.com/building-and-construction/hydraulic-robotic-arm.htm. And, of course, enter my giveaways to win them!
