I mentioned that my friend Jen and I started talking freaking out about college admissions stuff and then decided to host a Google HangoutOnAir to discuss the matter with an expert on the topic and make our conversation public. Susan Goodkin, executive director of the California Learning Strategies Center kindly joined us and shared tips on low cost(!!) ways to help your child stand out during the admissions process.
Given this was the first official HOA I’ve hosted, the conversation wasn’t quite as public as I hoped and we lost Susan before we were ready to end, but we’re all on a learning curve. I did capture the conversation, though and I think it’s worth a listen (really, there’s not much to watch). There are a few gems worth noting during our brief talk.
Be sure to read down after the video for great news. (If you’re getting an error message on the video, click through to YouTube and refresh it once or twice if needed. YouTube has been kinda wonky for me lately.)
We had so much fun, we’re doing it again! Join in live on April 10 at 2:00 PM Eastern as Susan, Jen and I discuss the SATs (changes are coming, some schools are say the test is unnecessary, etc.) as well as 2E or twice-exceptional kids (gifted + a learning or behavior challenge) and more!
